About Me
I am a successful, self-employed business consultant living on a small horse farm I bought 10 years ago. I married my second husband, Jim, the love of my life, in Sept. 2005. Jim was diagnosed with PD 18 months later. He is a physician and still practicing at 55. I am 49 going on 30. We are devastated. We have traveled extensively for the 7 years we've been together, enjoying Jim's two adult children and are lucky to have 3 of 4 parents in our lives. I am extremely physically active; Jim has always been somewhat reserved. What can we expect with this diagnosis?

Horses, the outdoors, skiing, scuba diving, international travel, great food and wine, politics and the arts. We're somewhat hermits, loving our very private life on this farm with our horses, many cats and faithful Border Collie. We value our time together above all else.

Thank you...I try to take things a day at a time. Things Im sure will get better with time, he is still having a hard time dealing on some days but he is in therapy and is trying his hardest to just accept and get on with his life. All I can do is be there for him. This is definately a hard disease to come to terms with though. Thank you again for your support!

Welcome to the PD site and it's a good place to lean and get support. It sounds like your in the say mode as me and my wift. I'm 56 and have PD and my wife is going strong and is very active. She does a lot for me and is a great support. I'm also active but I'm limited in how much I can do. Just be there for him and let him know that you are in the fight together. Take care and hang in there.....
