  Thanks for your thoughts. Unfortunately, this is the second surgery on my hip. The first came as a hip replacement back in January, I've been off work ever since, with benefits luckily. The surgeon didn't quite get it right the first time and had to redo it. The recovery over the last few days has been difficult-very uncomfortable physically and the memories from the hospital carry a nausious feeling with them.
  
  I often have to let go of resentment, anger and frustration over memories of witnessing extremely poor treatment of elderly patients in the hospital, in the room which I shared with two other gentlemen (age 80 and 90).
  
  Being a fairly assertive person, I was often able to tell the nurses and orderlies what I wanted or did not want, but these men weren't so assertive.
  
  I did sa much helping of the 90 year old as possible as he could not hear or do much of anything.
  
  I promissed my wife I wouldn't get into all this much more so I will only say It was a very difficult situation that has left me feeling sick to my stomach.

  Thanks for your hug, Gail! I'm feeling a bit better now than I was towards the end of last week. I suffer from depression and sometimes it can really hit me so hard that I completely despair and give up all hope. I had a few things that triggered it which I'm trying to avoid dwelling on if possible.

  Hey Gail...long time between hugs I know...I read the posts in aa Spoken Here and have seen interesting discussions as well as debates....lol...(arguments)..haha...I've got like 111 days clean 'n sober and am doing quite well. This sober living is rather enjoyable. I fear I'm losing my tough biker image though as it seems to fade along with the insanity of being stoned. I will take it gladly compared to my life before. My hand seems to be stable and slowly getting stronger. Home therapy including swimming and saunas is the ticket. Light weight lifting and gripping exercises are essential too. I'm going to ride soon!!!!...hahaha...(well maybe)...Hope you are well Gail...have a great weekend...
