I frequently find myself sickened when I watch the news on TV nowadays. It’s the anchors, the stupid things they say, and the way they act when a hot piece of news hits the air. I could cite a lot of examples, but I’ll bet I don’t have to. I’ll bet you have examples of your own and that you know precisely what I mean. Now I have the perfect reference for newspeople.
It’s a visual image. If you have never seen Mel Brooks’ “History of the World, Part 1”, you should get it from the library or order on Netflix now. It’s entertaining and informative – especially the musical version of the Inquisition. But for right now all you really need to do is watch this one clip that shows the Dawn of Mankind:

From now on, you will think of this clip as you watch the anchors glom onto a news story and keep it going way past its value of interest or twist bits of information to further an agenda. You will think of this clip as you watch field correspondents fight each other for a share of the gore at a car wreck or shove a microphone in someone's face and ask stupid questions

It's the stupid questions with the obvious answers that get to me........Say Junior....that was some wreck......how do you feel? (the guy got a neck brace on, black eyes and a broken arm.....how do you think he feels dummy).
Or A J that was a tough loss tonight.....were you upset with your pitching tonight? (Dude kicked the water cooler apart, threw his glove half way across the field, was heard uttering a cuss word......what do think dummy?)
Body lying in the street......Is that your son there maam? Did you see what happened? (Course it's her son, can't you see she's crying and upset?)

Well, Bear. I am not sure we have evolved all that much. Especially our so-called new reporters.
But then again, how far are all of us away from that? - at least at times.
