  Yes, life goes on and it's up to each of us to do what we can to be as well as we can. I am working on losing the weight I gained after the radiotherapy. It's coming off slowly. xxx

  Yes,such a sad day as you say, it has touched many people with this dreadful disease, and made many more aware of leaving it too late. I was so fortunate that mine was diagnosed early and dealt with promptly. I am all in favour of early scans and detection and would urge anyone who has any doubt that they may have a problem to go see the doctor, don't leave it. I had no symtoms at all, just a feeling that 'something was not right', but it was still a shock when, after a routine smear test, I was called into the surgery where they told me I had some cancerous cells on the cervix. I went straight in for a biopsey and was shown the picture they had taken of the uterus straight away. It wasn't very nice but I could see the way it was invading the neck of the uturus. Fortunately it hadn't reached the lymph nodes or the womb but I had a full hysterecomy and radiotherapy. It took quite a while to recover from that and I took early retirement. Gradually I got my confidence back and am now better and hopefully 'clear' permanantly.Thank God. Hugs to all.
