I am so happy for you. It has been a long, uphill battle, but you never gave up. Now you have a new apt. and a new life, out from under Lee's thumb. BTY...How did it go, when you finally moved and what did you do with your trailer? Just curious, lol.

Congratulations on the new place. I hope you will be very happy there. It's hard not to enable our kids IMO. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself first before you help with your dd's issues. That's what I do before I help my son I make sure I am ok. I hope that made sense.

Well, as parents we probably do tend to enable our children. Just a quick guide: Is what they are doing overstepping our boundaries? Are they forgetting their boundaries? Are they doing something which may harm us? Are they doing something which may harm them?

If the answer is "no", you're probably doing pretty good! lol

Hook up as in what. getting the internet service provider to acknowledge the modem, humm.
if it's a land line - there is a ph number that the internet service provider provides. This ph number has to be place on sign in thingy.
W/o modem reconizeing internet ph #, as not having ph number installed you will get error message.
Again if you have ph internet service - as in thru your home ph line and you recieve error. this just might be reason.
1st thing in morning contact internet provider and request a local internet service ph # for your modem.
Ph company can even provide you w instruct on set up.
write dwn instuction - step by step.

Oh ya, on bottem bar on far right hand side near the clock you should see 2 computer icons. click on the icon.
a box will appear on screen. the screen will indicate either that pc has acknowledge the internet service and even show you at what speed you have service or it will show that pc doesn't acknowledge the internet service.

Am not sure but at top of screen - it should show Tools
click on Tools. when the menu drops down ( opens )there should be listing. on listing it should show Internet Options. maybe this will allow you to enter the internet service provider ph # that they provide for your pc.
It's been long time since I'v done this.
Hopefully someone such as Hockeymom on DS support group -- physical & emotional support group will assist you.
Hockeymom is good when it comes to pc and pc programs.
