Well, for those of us in the North East, especially the shore dwellers, March has roared in like a lion! I awoke yesterday to nearly a foot of snow covering everything in a thick blanket of white.
For those of us who live along the New Jersey coast, snow is not the norm; even in the coldest of winters. This was only the second or third time in the last nine years that we even had to break out the snow shovel. If it snows at all, we usually only get a dusting to maybe an inch and the salt air from the ocean drives that away within a few hours. Yesterday was different. March roared in like a lion!
The company I work for elected not to open. This has only happened once before in the eleven years I have worked there. This brought back wonderful memories of the “snow days” experienced as a boy growing up in North Jersey. I can remember waiting in bed for the fire siren to sound indicating the closing of area schools. Of course that was before today’s “delayed openings”, internet sites, and believe me, unless there was a good half foot, we were walking to school like any other day.
Spent the day getting caught up on some emails, much needed rest and had a quite evening with Tommy and our friend, Jack. Dinner and a movie while listening to the snow plows and howling wind off the ocean. All in all, a perfect day.
Here's looking forward to March leaving like a lamb!

In MD the snow was ridiculous too! Growing up in NY I was used to this, but I still hate snow. I can't wait until the Spring (actual Spring) hits!
