I am a registered nurse. I have been married for 5 years and been trying to fall pregnant just as long. I like to think I am pretty strong but have been finding it tough as time goes on with no result. I love my pets and spending time with family and friends.

Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I found out I had PCOS when I was 14 years old and was told by my GP that I had a "one in a million chance" of ever falling pregnant. I met my now husband when I was 19 and married him when I was 22. We are both desperate to have children and have been trying to fall since we got engaged 6 years ago. I have tried so many things and have finally decided to start IVF this year to realise our dream of having a child of our own.
Treatments
- Clomid Not Working
- Tried every dosage and had all the bad side effects... hot flushes, mood swings, sweats etc. with no result... not even one ovulation.
- Laparoscopic Surgery Not Working
- I had this done 1 year ago (ovarian ablasion) and although the procedure itself went smoothly and my gyne was fantastic it had no result.
- Metformin Somewhat Helpful
- I found this made it a little easier to lose weight but I suffered from really low blood sugar levels on it and eventually had to stop as it was making me very lethargic and gave me dizzy spells.
- Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
- I was on Diane 35 ED before we began trying and found it fantastic... hair growth was completely stopped on my chin and face, acne disappeared and I found it very easy to control my weight and maintain a healthy size. It was also wonderful to have a regular period as before I started it, I only got my period once a year on average.
Close Infertility
Type: Ovarian IssuesI have PCOS. Have been trying to conceive for about 5 years. Have just made our first appointment to start IVF in June this year! Excited but nervous.

- Clomid Working / Worked
- Folic Acid Considering
- Not sure if I should start this yet or wait until the Gyn. reccommends
- In Vitro Fertilization Considering
- Starting in June...
