      My name is Rebecca.. I joined this site because I am seeking support and encouragement during my weight loss journey. When I first began, I had over 200 pounds to lose. I have lost over half of that, but still have 60lbs or so to go. I am going through a rough time, and need help.

    • Interests

      My interest vary quite a bit.. in the summertime, you can find me hiking, camping and fishing.. or down at the dirt track watchin my buddy race.. I'm you're average girl, basically. I like to read, write poetry, hold interesting conversations with new people.. and last but certainly not least.. I am interested in losing the extra weight I've been carrying around all these years!

      26 months ago, I began a journey. I was 19 years old, and weighed 362lbs. I set a long term goal of 150lbs, and worked on getting down to 300. I have attained that goal and more, but I am struggling badly right now. I had surgery on my shoulder last June, and have had trouble losing weight since because my routine is all messed up. I can't lift heavy weights even to this day, but I am figuring things out, I think!

      Treatments

      Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
      Avoiding sweets worked a lot for me, still does. Maintaining a balanced diet has been my key so far
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      I've had to modify my exercise routine a lot over the past months. I go to the gym (during these loooong winter months!) 5 days a week. I warm up for 10 minutes, spend 25 doing different variations of cardio, strength train (adapted for my shoulder!) for 20, and then core train for another 20. I have spent a lot of time in the gym recently, and I see the results!
    • Close Diets & Weight Maintenance

      I was 19, and 362lbs when I began my journey to lose weight. I am now 22 and 168lbs. It's been a long and hard road, but through my own hard work and the support of family and friends, I'll continue to meet my goals and complete my journey.

      Treatments

      Counting Calories Working / Worked
      I keep a log of everything I eat, and maintain a diet of 1300 calories a day.
      Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
      Probably what has worked the best for me was following a very wise piece of information that my doctor gave me.. "Make your diet as colorful as possible." Meaning to include as many different vegetables and fruits as possible. Learning how to balance my diet has also been key, in my eye.
      Eat Less Working / Worked
      Especially when I first started losing weight, I would put what I wanted on my plate, then immediately remove half. I don't have to do this anymore, but I do weigh and measure what I eat.
      Phentermine Working / Worked
      My doctor prescribed phentermine to me approximately one year ago and it greatly increased my average monthly loss. I visit the dr office once a month to insure that the drug isnt having any ill effect but so far Ive loved it.
