      I am a 27 year old mother of a wonderful 7 year old girl. I have many health issues that get in the way of my life. Some more than I like. I am a fun loving compassionate person who gets joy and happiness out of helping others. I look for support from my friends who are trustworthy. Since relatives are not an option for safety purposes. Its just me and my baby girl now. I gladly welcome all the help I can get. Family isn't necessarilly by blood.

      I like to have picnics on the beach. I love walking, and listening to music. I love to sing. Either karoake or for someone special. I like being able to take my daughter to friends's house for social growth. And spending mother/daughter time with her. I love to be a good provider and nurture. I am a social butterfly. I love going out and being able to enjoy myself with friends. I love trying new things!

      I just found out that I have high cholesterol, and Hypothyroidism, and elevated blood sugar, and Anemia. All at once. I feel so exhausted right now. …

    • Close Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

      I have a long story so I'll just summarize it. I was born into a traumatic family. I grew up with people shooting at me through my window and my uncle trying to shoot adrenaline in my home iv's. I was severly abused, every way possible. I have been kicked with steel-towed boots and beaten on the back with two by fours. I have had food shoved down my throat and been strangled and held upside down by my mother. well I guess I better stop. There is alot more.

      Treatments

      Art Not Working
      not effective. I think to much about what I am drawing.
      Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Somewhat Helpful
      This works when I can see a therapist who specializes in CBT. Very effective.
      Effexor Somewhat Helpful
      its not working. I have panic attacks I have to take xanax to counter-attack the panic. Dose was just raised to 300mg daily.
      Elavil Working / Worked
      I am on Amitriptyline. Works great for helping me sleep at night.
      Inderal Working / Worked
      I was on this a few years ago to help thin my blood. Worked great when I was on it. Its currently no longer needed at this point.
      Music Working / Worked
      The right relaxing music has helped me considerably when I am not feeling so good.
      Paxil Not Working
      was on this med. for two years. Started having panic attacks while taking this medication.
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
      Works really good, when I can see one.
      Rape Counseling Not Working
      not effective. Made me focus on the wrong things.
      Reading Working / Worked
      The right encouraging book helps me get distracted away from what stays in my mind most of the time. That's a very good thing.
      Remeron Not Working
      made me gain weight and had bad side-effects
      Rozerem Working / Worked
      Works great, as long as it isn't taken longer than two weeks. Meant to help establish a sleep pattern. That's it. Taken any longer, and this medicine is really easy to gain a tolerance to.
      Seroquel Not Working
      been on this for 3 and a half years. not working any more. my dosage just keep getting raised. I still have nightmares.
      Supportive Care Too Soon to Tell
      I haven't had that much care that people are willing to deal with me. So I have had too much trouble when it comes to supportive care.
      Talking Somewhat Helpful
      This can work only if I can get past the PTSD freeze and put into words how I'm feeling at the time.
      Trazodone Somewhat Helpful
      Worked for a short time. After I developed a tolerance to this, I have had a lot of trouble finding any other sleep medicine to work for me. Including this one.
      Zoloft Not Working
      I had severe panic attacks while still on this medicine.

    • Close Cystic Fibrosis

      I am 25 years old and suffer from Cystic Fibrosis. Among many other things.

      Treatments

      ADEKs Multivitamin Working / Worked
      I feel better, and I can focus a little bit better too, when I am on these vitamins daily.
      Advair Working / Worked
      working great for inflammation and obstruction. A lot easier to breathe. Did work for awhile. Can no longer take every day. I am building a tolerance...Have been instructed to take every other day now.
      Chest Percussion Somewhat Helpful
      I have different case of cf. Affects mostly sinuses and digestive disorder. When I do get lung infections, this works great.!!!
      Cipro Not Working
      stopped working developed tolerance to it.
      Creon Too Soon to Tell
      Just recently put on this. I haven't noticed a difference between this and my Ultrase. Time will have to tell on this one.
      Flonase Somewhat Helpful
      worked for awhile. Then started to have opposite effect intended.
      Guaifenesin Working / Worked
      This works awesome! But is no longer made because of the pseudoephedrine in it. New Sudafed no longer works. Dr. told me that new meds. don't work for me, because the Guaifenesin is a little stronger than the new sudafed.
      Hypertonic Saline Somewhat Helpful
      This works ok, as long as I am in the hospital and under constant Doctor supervision. This has caused me to have coughing fits so bad that I pull stomach muscles. Dr. has to give me immediate o2 afterwards. I dont take this unless I absolutely have to!
      Nasal Irrigation Working / Worked
      This is only effective when used everyday at least 3 times a day. Otherwise, It becomes pointless.
      Nasonex Not Working
      Just made my nose more stuffy. And more difficult to clear.
      Pancrelipase Working / Worked
      works really good as long as its Ultrase itself. The generic gave me severe stomach pains.
      Pari PEP Working / Worked
      This worked awesome! when my lower left lung collapsed, this really help to put some back pressure back into my lung so I could breathe again. I am encouraged to keep doing this everyday. Or as much as possible to prevent any future collapses.
      Pulmozyme Considering
      I am being considered for this treatment.
      ThAIRapy Vest Working / Worked
      Works, but has been known to irritate my asthma. By squeezing me too tight.
      TOBI Working / Worked
      This medicine only works in the hospital. But caused me to have kidney failure. I had to take vancomycin to counter-act it. Amongst other ones to increase kidney function back to normal.
      Vancomycin Working / Worked
      Great antiobiotic. Just can tear up IVS and cause allergic reaction to regular tubing. It also caused me to need TWO PICC lines, and 14 ivs. in two weeks. And can be harsh on the veins. Otherwise very effective.
      Gentamycin Working / Worked
      This works great.. especially after sinus surgery. It is one of the only antiobiotic not absorbed into the blood stream. It does however kill ALL bacteria in the system wherever taken. This medicine has to be compounded in a specialty pharmacy!

    • Open Insomnia

      I have severe ptsd. I have just been diagnosed also with chronic insomnia. Amongst other severe health problems like cf, asthma, etc. I have a long story so if any one wants to know anything please ask.

      Trazodone Not Working
      made me anxious was up all night and then was not able to sleep since.
      Seroquel Somewhat Helpful
      been on seroquel for about 3 and half years. worked for a while. Now not effective at all.
      Remeron Somewhat Helpful
      great for sleep aid. Bad side effect of weight gain.
      Elavil Working / Worked
      I have recently taken off of all of the other sleeping aids and have been put on this one. Dose just raised to 150mg. Working so far. Only been on a week though.
      Rozerem Not Working
      Worked really good for about two weeks and then developed tolerance. Great for needing to gain restorative sleep cycle.
      Restoril Not Working
      Took this med. for almost two months only worked for two or three nights and the usual tolerance built up to it.

    • Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

      I am a 25 year old mother of a 5 year old girl. Wife of seven years. I have many health problems. IBS being one of them. I have a really bad case. I can't eat most foods. I still haven't found a med that works yet.

      Treatments

      Acidophilus Working / Worked
      no effect
      Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
      alot of foods have to avoided. veggies, juices, wheat bread, gravy, tomatoes, oatmeal.
      Chamomile Not Working
      any kind of tea makes it worse.
      Levitra Working / Worked
      worked for a week. Then I ended in hospital with worse cramps.
      Prilosec Not Working
      allergic reaction. Severe stomach cramps. Debilitating to the point of immobility.
      Bentyl Working / Worked
      built a tolerance to it in two weeks.
      Prevacid Not Working
      worked for a few months until I got worse cramps.
