My 11 yr old daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. My Dad passed away at 51 yrs old from liver cancer....miss him every day, we were very close. Just found out that my Grandpa has leukemia and that both my Grandma's have alzheimers. My 4 wk old nephew received a heart transplant, he is now 2 yrs old & doing well. However, they can't tell us how long this heart will last. I work at the hospital as a Dialysis Assistant.

Thank you so much! When I saw the name of the group - I knew it was for me. My dad passed from leukemia and was just about to turn 55. So sad... I will be posting soon! I will be nice to exchange thoughts. Have a great day and thanks again! HUGS~Nadine

Close Bereavement
My Dad passed away from liver cancer at the age of 51...I miss him very much. Him & I were very close. I watched him slowly deteriorate over the course of a year. He didn't want to be in the hospital, so we looked after him at home....and that is where he passed away. We buried him 5 days before Christmas, so each year it is an extra hard time. Where does the time go? Life will never be the same without him!

Open Family & Friends of Cancer Patients
My Dad passed away at the age of 51 due to liver cancer. My Grandpa had colon cancer. My best friend had cancer. My friend's Mom had breast cancer.
Open Congenital Heart Disease
My nephew was born with a very diseased heart. Was taken to Sick kids in Toronto & put in ICU. Was put on heart transplant list. Received a new heart at 4 wks old. He is now 20 mths old, and doing well. Still have many questions. How long will this heart last? When will he need another transplant?

It took over 6 yrs & many procedures to get rid of my cancerous cells. Just hearing the word cancer is scary. At the moment I'm waiting to hear back again from my last pap test.
