      Hi John hope everything is going well for you and they get your stoma sorted.Im waiting to see the doc as i have pins coming out of my stoma they are like staples so they are going to have a look for me.How about Hull they are doing really well so are we but we seem to be missing something.Just going to iron my uniform for work tomoz but right now i dont have the energy been really tierd this week think everything is coming home to me now just have to stay posotive. You keep well and look after yourself. Love Chris xxx

      Hi John, Thanks, yes we have had some weather that is for sure. While on our cruise, Hurricane Ike made the first two nights so bumpy that I got seasick. Then we get to Orlando airport and our flight home was cancelled because Houston was closed. They rescheduled us for a 7 hour layover in Houston (which is where we are now) and I'm sicker than a dog. They don't care, but I'll tell you what, I'm going to go after them for this. I hope you are well. I met a lovely couple originally from England, currently residing in Gabraltor.

    • Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

      suffered since 1976 when 13. have had four surgeries and have a colostomy. worked as a civil servant until medically retired early because of flare-ups and recurring problems. suffer anaemia and malabsorption

      Treatments

      Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
      it varies sometimes certain foods cause problems , other times not too bad. do not satisfactorily digest foods.
      Azathioprine Working / Worked
      beneficial until it severely suppressed immune system and was forced to cease
      Prednisone Working / Worked
      sometimes effective, others needed surgery
      Surgery Working / Worked
      as is the case with crohns su rgery has worked but further flare ups and surgery has occurred. reduced gut and stoma mean i have poor absorption
    • Close Osteoporosis

      have crohns disease and through poor nutritional absorption or steroid treatment found out i had osteoporosis when i cracked a vertebrae when turning over in bed.

      Treatments

      Actonel Somewhat Helpful
      does have a slight clash with my crohn's, but it is to replace regular pamidronate infusions. it seems okay as i have had no fractures!
