      I am currently wrapping up my collegiate career (I graduate this may!), and am finally ready to put an end to my weight loss/gain rollercoaster that I have been on for the majority of my life. I believe in healthy eating and hard work to achieve my goals. I love cooking healthy and delicious meals and breaking a ferocious sweat.

      I have struggled with my weight for the majority of my life. Overweight as a child, I began a serious weight loss campaign (after MANY failed attempts) the summer before my junior year of high school. I successfully lost 50lbs (going from 200lbs to 150lbs) and kept it off until the middle of my sophomore year of college, when I noticed it had crept up on me. Currently, I am 185lbs and would like to be back around my low-weight-- anywhere from 150lbs to 160lbs is fine by me!

      Treatments

      Counting Calories Working / Worked
      Made me conscious of what I put into my body. I HIGHLY recommend keeping a food journal, even if you don't count calories meticulously. Keeping track of what you eat is a great step towards success!
      Dancing Working / Worked
      I am a belly dancer and I notice that, despite a layer of fat, I have great muscle tone, much of which I attribute to dancing.
      Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
      The best solution there is-- pair this with cardio and some strength training and you're good to go!
      Eat Less Working / Worked
      Portion control is the key to weight loss. Everything in moderation!
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      One of the keys to weight loss-- pair this with healthy eating and you're on the fast track to success!
      Slim-Fast Working / Worked
      I used this to jumpstart my weight loss back in '04. It definitely worked, but I look back and wonder if my body was in starvation mode-- I didn't eat nearly enough while on Slim-fast. And, the weight crept back on after I went off the program.

      Type: Be the best you can be

      Getting back into the swing of things, starting back up making exercise a part of my daily routine as I pursue my goal of changing the way I look.

      Dancing Working / Worked
      Belly dance!
      Elliptical Trainer Working / Worked
      Good overall calorie-burner-- I prefer running, however.
      Running Working / Worked
      The best cardio I know of-- a great stress-reliever and always makes me feel better after a good run.
      Strength Training Working / Worked
      Definitely a necessity-- one of the three cornerstones of weight/fat loss (strength training, cardio, healthy eating)

    • Open Healthy Eating

      For a large part of my life, I felt as though I was in a constant battle with food. I was a vegetarian for eight years and really cultivated a love to cook semi-recently (within the last 3-4 years when I changed my lifestyle around)... I am a healthy eater, I just need to cut out the extra junk food that is weighing me down!!!

      Treatments

      Organic Diet Working / Worked
      I love when I eat an organic diet-- everything tastes so earthy and good. It's a shame it's so expensive, because I can only eat like I want to when I visit my mom-- it's costs too much to buy all organic food when I'm at college.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      Paired with a healthy diet, the best solution for weight loss!
