That is hysterical- My kids hated Santa and I had to tell them he wasn't real earlier than I wanted to cause they were so freaked out that he would come in the house w/out ringing the bell!!!!
OMG!!! i am about to have to tell my 4 year old the truth too im afraid! he is TERRIFIED of santa coming in the house and is already starting to ask about it again..i hate that it gives him anxiety attacks like it does!! hahaha.
My daughter was about 6 or 7 and when I asked her why she was so scared of Santa she said "I'm afraid hee's gonna walk by my room and think I'm hot!!!!"
I've always told mine, "if you don't believe in Santa, you won't get anything"...hee, hee...that sounds so mean! My mom told us, me & my sisters, the same thing. lol Seriously, we knew she was kidding, and my kids knew I was teasing them! I'm not 100% sure when mine stopped believing in the guy in the red suit...I know they weren't afraid of him coming into the house...hmmmmm...I think I started telling them "Mama is Santa" at about 4 or 5 yrs of age. I remember they liked to pretend to believe in him, so do I. I love the whole " You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why, Santa Clause is coming, TO TOWN!"...taking a bow..."thank you very much"...I believe in Elvis, too! LOVE HIM ;) Yeah, I used that song for as long as I could on my little ones. My Amanda is 20, my Jimmy is 24!!! lol If you were to ask them if they believe in Santa, I know they would both tell you yes, simply because "if you don't believe in Santa, you won't get anything"....lol
