OMG!! Those are common out here in Arizona. I've heard they exist in the southeast, but I never saw one all the years I lived there. Keep in mind they do not attack, they only defend when they feel threatened. There only weapon is the stinger in their tail. That little ball at the end of the tail, just before the needle stinger, is the venom sac. It works just like a syringe and needle to inject venom. Even if it is removed from the scorpion, it will still work if the stinger punctures the skin and the sac is squeezed. Take care with those things. Bless your heart.
Great. I have seen one of those and ended up catching it in a jar;
as everyone told me they could NOT live in Oregon. Yup, it was a really
scary experience. I can hear you screaming all the way out here. LOL
An unwelcome guest! Very photogenic, though. Poor Manda! Did you kill him? Or did you tell him to go home? I lived in San Antonio - saw lots of those ugly things...yuck-o-la!
In the house? On Halloween? Must be a sign from the Otherside. I knew I heard a sonic boom! The first time I saw a seven foot long cockroach in my house in Fl, I screamed, too. Then got my trusty broomstick and knocked down the walls trying to get rid of it. Normally, I put the critters outside.
oh, this little critter is no longer "with us"..LOL. i was told by people around here (ga) that they were common and to check our sheets at night once cold set in..WTF????? i dont know how much more of this i can take...hahaha!
We have tons of scorpions in AZ- I've been strung twice- in my bed- it hurts and you get sick flu-like symptoms for about 3 days, but you do survive. You might consider having your house professionally sealed. Thats what I did- that way- its harder for them to get inside. I didn't realize you gor scorpions in the east either... it is freaky!!!!!Suposedly I've heard that cats kill them- do you have a cat?
OMG! Just got home from the big wedding and saw your picture! I would have flipped, too!! We had centipedes in our first apartment and I used old fashioned bay leaves to get rid of them. Check your sheets? I don't think so! LOL
I had no idea you were dealing with this on halloween...SICK...I am glad this foe is gone...hopefully never to return...there is no way I could have enven taken a picture...I would have been totally freaked!
we THOUGHT it was dead as my husband had squeezed it with the towel (not smart as it probably couldve stung through it..) it was perfectly still until we tapped the top of its head with a stick after we took it outside..then it brought its tail up and stung..and i stomped it...
OMG!!! THAT IS NOT GOOD! I WOULD BE SCREAMING TOO!!! I ONLY DO THE FAKE ONES!
