I'm the mother of two great kids. I live in VA, a Jersey transplant. I am dignosed with PTSD, bipolar disorder, with agoraphobia, OCD, anxiety/panic disorder. I did work as a LPN until I crashed and couldn't work. Right now I'm working real hard at taking things one day at a time!

I felt the same way when I was recently told I had bipolar at age 42 and still do not understand everything that is happening. A friend recommended that I buy a book called "Bipolar for Dummies" that is really helpful. I am going to buy it and read it. Good luck to you. Also, know that God is there for us!

Close Bipolar Disorder
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- Couldn't stay on it. Made me have terrible headaches, nausea and vomiting.
- Geodon Somewhat Helpful
- Was able to take it a couple years ago. Tried again in June and was horribly sick, couldn't stay on it.
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- They work well.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- Taking 400mg now. No side effects that I have noticed. Working well.
- Lithium Not Working
- Just didn't work. Caused bad acne too.
- Prozac Working / Worked
- Have been off it since June. I thought it worked well for my OCD and depression. Pdoc said it was causing mixed states.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Started in June. 1200mg a day. No side effects. Does help the back pain. Not sure about my mood though.
