I had never been there before and was there just for the day. Would love to go back sometime and see more. My grandaughter took my picture with the naked cowboy. That was fun but my son did not approve. I told him that was just too bad,I was just having fun.
I grew up just across the Hudson River from NYC. You could see the skyline and from several different vantage points you could see the Statue of Liberty. Believe it or not I have never been there. It's funny when you live so close to something, you kind of take it for granted and don't take full advantage. Several years ago my nephew had his wedding reception on a boat that went around the Statue of Liberty. That was the closest I had ever been. It is awe inspiring to think that was the first site my grandparents saw when they came to this country from Italy in 1905
I was more impressed with the statue of liberty than I expected to be.
Luckily we did not have to stay in the city as we were offered a place to stay on Long Island ( Montauk ) so we took the train from the Mc Arthur airport. The cheapest place we could find in the city was four hundred a night. UGH""" I know what you mean about living close to something and not taking advantage of it. I think we are all a little guilty of that.
What a beautiful view!!!
