First let me say that I am feeling ok. I have had one complete treatment without getting sick, only had a couple days that I was very tired and slept alot. I did have what the Dr. thinks was a reaction in the area where he put my port to one of my two meds. The area got real red and tender so he has me takeing a steriod medicine twice a day and a topical steriode ointment on the affected area. It has helped and inproved the area quie a bit. Dr. is supposed to let me know today if I should containue or stop the treatment. Soooooo, What I am wondering is will I have do do this every time I have a chemo treatment OR Will they change or take me off one of the meds. My next chemo is for the 25th.
I want to thank all of you, my friends for your support as only you all understand. Carol

It's hard for me to know what sort of a reaction it was.. a very mild allergic one perhaps.?. I had moderate allergic reactions to carboplatin, where I almost passed out and vomited and they allowed that to happen three times before they decided to change the treatment.. They gave me extra antihistamine drugs before the chemo and gave it to me at a slower pace.. I think there are lots of things they can do to try to control these things.. it doesn't sound too serious to me and I'm sure they will sort it for the best..
It's great that you have tolerated the treatment so well and hope that you continue to do so and that you come out of this with the very best results.. Huge hugs to you.. Inka xxx

Hi Carol
Sending a prayer for you for everything to go well today . Sounds like your port-site had a reaction to the drug . It may be a weaker reaction this time , I hope for you to be able to tolerate the treatment . Drs can add a histamine at the time of treatment or reduce the dose or prolong the time over which to give the drug ...all of which may help to reduce the reaction .
All the best for today .
Mega hugs and love .............Monica
