About Me
I just got married on November 27, 2008 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to the MOST WONDERFUL MAN. He has supported me throughout my journey and pushed me to achieve my goals. I am SO BLESSED. My family is also very supportive and I am grateful for each and every one of them. I work as a drug and alcohol counselor. I love naps, watching television, cuddling with my man, and most of all helping others. I have no children, but I do have 3 cats, 1 puppy, and about 30 fish. Not to mention my significant other is like a child himself sometimes. I have traveled alot all over the U.S. and in Europe.

Close Gastric Bypass Surgery
I have been overweight most of my life. I have a love hate relationship with food. I hate what it does to me, but I love the way it tastes. I had gastric bypass on 1/29/08. I am learning a new way of eating and a new way of life. It is amazing how all of this works. I know that through God I will be successful.....I started at 315 pounds, walk with me as it drops off...
Close Cocaine Addiction & Recovery
I used cocaine on a regular basis for about 7 years. My use continued to increase and led me to make some horrible choices. I ended up in drug treatment. I have been sober for 7 years now and work as a certified drug and alcohol counselor. I try to help others so that they do not have to go down the same horrible road I went down.
Treatments
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Working / Worked
- I still go to meetings on a regular basis even though I have been sober for 7 years. I know I am dealing with an addiction that is cunning, baffling and powerful.
Open Obesity
I was obese most of my life and still am. I had Gastric Bypass surgery on January 29, 2008. I am making lifestyle changes in order to live healthy. It is a struggle, but I am determined to do it. I am exercising daily and making healthier food choices.
Treatments
- Alli Not Working
- Gave me horrible diarrhea....wouldn't use it again, expensive and made me run for the bathroom one too many times
- Gastric Bypass Surgery Working / Worked
- I had GBS on 1-29-08. It is working for me. I am eatig alot smaller portions and feel fuller quicker. It is a tool in my belt that is helping me reach a healthy weight. I do vommitt occasionally if I eat one bite too many or too fast. It is a learning experience, but I am so glad I had the procedure.
- Jenny Craig Somewhat Helpful
- I lost, but when I stopped eating their food I put weight back on and more than I had lost. Tried numerous times and had the same effects...
- Meridia Not Working
- Took for one month--was very expensive, even with medical insurance. I only lost 4 pounds in one month. It did not give me the results I was looking for so I would not recommend it..
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Working for me now with my gastric bypass surgery. I am down 75 pounds in 3 months. Feel great and have alot of energy. Joints hurt on occasion because I push myself when I am still heavy, but I am seeing results for once in my life.
- Slim-Fast Somewhat Helpful
- Replaced a meal with the slim fast. Didn't think it was the greatest. It tasted good, but I really didn't lose alot of weight. It cured my sweet tooth when I had one, but didn't do alot for my extra weight.
- South Beach Diet Working / Worked
- Great food and filling. Lost a few pounds. Didn't try long enough to see long term success.
- Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
- I counted points and lost weight. Once I stopped counting points I slowly put the weight back on with alittle extra. Tried it many times with the same results...nothing long term nothing permanent..
