I am a native NYer living in coastal SC. It has been a bumpy 39 year ride for me. I am twice divorced and now currently married (for almost 5 years) to a sweet man who I met on the internet almost 7 years ago. I was told in 1999 that I would never be able to have children, but, since Sept 10, 2006, I have miscarried 3 times. I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and PCOS. I have since gone on meds and changed my eating completely. In 6 years I have lost 75 pounds. In spite of all the progress, I am still not healthy enough to have a baby. The doctor just told me this week (05/14/09) that we have to stop trying and give up. I now have very high blood pressure on top of the diabetes and need to take care of myself and give up on the whole baby idea. I am ok, I guess.....

Singing, movies, internet, walking on the beach, making new friends, doing hair, skin, and nails (my job), anything church related (serve on choir, teach youth, work on the sound team, & outreach) I like to stay busy.

Close Miscarriage
I am a type 2 diabetic, who since Sept '06, has had 3 m/c (at 14 wks, 6 wks, & 12 wks). I am feeling encouraged that I someday, soon, will have the child that my heart and arms ache for. Although, I was so sure this last time was going to take, we still have our eye on the goal. My husband and I are currently not TTC, but hopefully sometime after Jan '09 I will feel confident in TTC again.

Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed w/ PCOS in 1999, and was told I was too overweight and with this ovary disease that I would NEVER conceive. Since Sept 2006, I have conceived and miscarried 3 times. Although not currently TTC, I have not given up.
Treatments
- Janumet Working / Worked
- Using for type 2 diabetes but the Metformin in it is making my peroids very regular!!! I take 2 tablets daily. They are 501000 mg which means 50 mg Januvia and 1000 mg Metformin in each tablet.
- Progesterone Cream Working / Worked
- I am using Arbonne's Natural Progesterone Cream. I feel like I am having great results, my periods have regulated.
Open Diabetes Type 2
Mom and Dad are both diabetic, as well as 1 grandparent on each side. Neither of my parents take care of theirs so I do not want to go down the same road of deterioration that they are. I was diagnosed 6 years ago then promptly lost my health insurance due to job change. Controlling my B/G has been very hard. But now I have the right Dr. , insurance, and am doing much better.
Treatments
- Eating Healthier Foods Somewhat Helpful
- This works when I can follow to a T. I am a hairdresser and I have to eat on the run alot, and sometimes skip meals or eat late, so...
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- I only use this if my pre meal reading is too high, to avoid a huge spike up from eating. I rarely need to take it. I haven't had to use it since Mid October.
- Janumet Working / Worked
- This what I take now. It is working great, no side effects.
