At long last, i have changed my face on DS, i've got my OK face back rather than frowny faces. Why? I'm still in awful pain, but in the …
Diagnosed narcolepsy 2 years ago after possible 16-year history. Reluctant medication-taker although essential at moment to be able to work. Interested in finding more natural ways of managing N like diet, herbal supplements etc. I have 2 sons, who are 21 & 22, who i brought up single-handed and they've both flown the nest now.

Not much time for them at moment, you know how it is! But I am learning Spanish, and go to Spain as often as I can, love the easy-going lifestyle out there and the weather most of the time. When well, like to go to gym, cook and eat very healthy food.

I try to eat healthily, and in a way that will hopefully reduce my pain and fatigue. I've greatly reduced my intake of additive-containing foods, especially ones that contain aspartame and other artificial sweeteners, because of the risks associated with them like brain tumours.
I lost my beloved cat Jetson in Jan 07. He was only 4 1/2 years old but developed bladder stones that i didn't know about until it was too late. I miss him every day, to the point where i still expect him to walk in the room and jump on my lap. I miss him waking me up every morning.
Career over more like! Struggling to keep working due to disability, and even worse, people's ignorance and intolerance of disability
My dad developed Type 1 at 20yo, 60 now, always controlled and mixed his own insulin, over last month has been having lots of serious hypos, sudden onset, and can't figure out reason why.
Got initial dx of fibro in Aug 08 after 3 months of excruciating pain in legs and feet, on top of pain in neck/shoulders for over a year, due to disc problems, but totally unresponsive to physio or painkillers. Just waiting to see specialist fibro physio now, nothing else advised by rheumo, just taking diclofenac and tramadol for pain, but difficult as incompatible with meds for narcolepsy
