Close Hypothyroidism
Many symptoms over months in 2006. Thyroxine makes me feel worse. Taking armour and haven't noticed any improvement. Housebound most days, weak, weight gain, hairloss,fatigue,moodswings, depression,anxiety, just want to have my life back
Treatments
- Armour Thyroid Too Soon to Tell
- 2 grains and very slowly increasing
- Cytomel Not Working
- Took 60mcg and just don't see any difference

Always struggled with weight but since being hypothyroid it is a nightmare as I continue to gain weight. I have still not reached my optimum levels of thyriod meds and cannot exercise as I am totally exhausted and ache all over.
Treatments
- Weight Watchers Working / Worked
- Joined 26 years ago and successfully lost weight a few times over the years. Do not want to return though.
- Xenical Not Working
- Tried it a few years ago just for a few days, too messy and worried to go out.
- Cambridge Diet Working / Worked
- Lost weight quickly and easily but the weight soon returned. I disagree with very low calorie diets.

Had result of 6.1 in fasting glucose blood test
Open Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)
I had GBS 9 years ago. I had pins and needles in hands and feet 10 days after having a tetnus booster. After 2 weeks I couldn't sit down and then had awful pain in my back like contractions down my spine. Went to A&E twice and was just given painkillers. My GP eventually diagnosed me, saw Neurologist, in hospital for 2 weeks, paralyzed up to my chest, luckily my breathing wasn't affected. Had immunoglobin by drip. Got better very very slowly.
