      Hi sweetie,
I was just wondering if you have low B12 and vitamin D levels? Besides the cpap machine, I've had to supplement w those things (including B12 shots) bc my energy level is also crap..was in college and couldn't continue. And I was so distracted too! My Dr diagnosed me w ADD and I started taking Adderall and it's made a HUGE difference in how scattered my thinking is, and like you, it was so frustrating when I, like you, had academic goals and I just couldn't get there bc I was thinking thru mud. I got so addicted to caffeine just to stay awake all day and think..then I would crash when it wore off.
Hang in there, it will all work out!

      Hi,
I just read your post about being afraid to sleep w a mask and believe you me, I was just like you! I started out w a nose piece, but it kept slipping off, so I traded it in for another one..It's not really restrictive..yea, the ones that cover the entire nose and mouth would drive me to drink! Mine is a little triangle that fits over my nose, and the air coming into my nose is calibrated just right so that I get enough air, and it's really refreshing..My mouth is free, and I just have a couple of head straps, not a big deal at all. I saw all kinds of pix of horrid looking head gear too! Man, I'm w you...there are MANY options of kinds to choose from..I like you, have central and obstructive apnea and was only getting like 70% O2 during the night. I never woke up refreshed, had headaches in the morning, snored like a freight train until it was really affecting my and my husband's sleep. NOW, it's wonderful. the air is so cool coming into my nose..I always had issues w a stopped up nose too but it really opens everything up and it's the best thing I've done..I would support you going to a place and just have them let you try stuff on to see what you may be more comfy with. I chose Durable Medical Equipment..the lady who fitted me was a Respiratory therapist who also had Apnea, so I felt really good working w her..she coached me a lot. And it does take some time to get used to it. Here's a funny! I get up to use the bathroom at night, forget I have it, and go to bed without putting it back on or it ends up stuck to my forehead w a long hose hanging off while I'm so deep into sleep, my husb says i sound like an elephant..of course I can't breathe, and he hears me snoring...we just laugh about it now.
i'm also overweight, 240, but w central apnea,, I don't believe that being heavy could stop your brain from remembering to breathe, so I like to think that it's not all about being heavy..think about it..go online and read success forums about people who have gotten their lives back...that helped me get over my fears about it.
      Hugs,
      kim

      Treatments

      Music Somewhat Helpful
I play the tuba which is great for getting my emoitons in check. Listening to music also helps me calm down and not do anything rash.
      Writing Somewhat Helpful
I write poetry to bent my emotions. I also send journal enteries to my best friends because they read it and help me figure things out.
    • Open Children Of Divorced Parents

When I was 8 my parents divorced. I'm fifteen now and no longer living with or speaking to my father. My mom is one of my best friends. I was put into the position of being a mother to my brother, then 4. He resents me for that. My older brother had to be the man of the house and he resents me for that as well.

    • Open Endometriosis

I'm fifteen and was recently told I probably have endometriosis. I have really nasty aching periods and the pill hasn't helped helped, in fact it has made it worse. The doc is trying to avoid doing surgery so he's experimenting with different pills to try and correct this without surgery.

      Treatments

      Oral Contraceptives Not Working
As of yet, the pill I was taking has made things only worse and hopefully the new pill will work but who knows?

Most of the time it helps but sometimes you hear a song that will just make you want to cry instead of helping you.
