Close Epilepsy & Seizures
My four-year old son,Xavier was diagnosed with epilepsy at two-years old. The seizures acutally started occurring when he was 14 months old, but the doctors ignored the true facts and ruled them as febrile seizures. He would have 14 seizures in one day and the doctor wouldn't do anything about it. We finally got him an appointment in Winsten Salem with one of the top neurologist. Xavier's had all kinds of test done and have came out normal. He's had seven this year and is now on ten pills.
Treatments
- Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
- I think the medicine controls it to a certain extent, but my son continues to have seizures.
Close Panic Attacks
Several months ago I drove myself to the hopsital, because I felt as if I was sufficating and having chest pains. They hooked me to the heart monitors which looked good. They told me it was anxiety/panic attacks. So now it has gotten worse with the suffication feeling, choking, and pulse racing. I need some advice. Is this truly Panic Attacks or could it be something totally serious?
Treatments
- Xanax Somewhat Helpful
- Occasionally the medication will work. I can't take the whole dosage tho, because my body doesn't work well with medicines.That could be the issue.
Open Parenting Big Kids (5-8)
I have a seven-year old son, who believes he knows it all. He's a smart child,but very lazy when it comes to school work. He fights with his brother all the time.
Open Autism / Autism Spectrum
Xavier was diagnosed today 5/29/07 with Autism Spectrum Disorder-mild to moderate. So now he has Autism with seizure disorder. I am searching for help/advice in understanding how to help my son.
Open Chemotherapy
Okay so I actually want to join this community because of my mother-in-law. She has been diagnosed with cancer (sarcoma) in the last stages. She will be going in for chemo on Thursday, I need so information if there's any out there.
Open Parenting Preschoolers (3-5)
I have a three year old daughter and a five year old son.
Treatments
- Child Time-out Not Working
- They refuse to sit in time out.
- Patience Working / Worked
- Lots and lots of patience on my part helps my kids to be calm.
- Prayer Working / Worked
- Works, I am a strong believer God will guide me in raising my children
