      " Fed - I know you are not a stupid woman - I think you know a great deal about a great deal. There are subjects that you address which are way over my level of knowledge - so the last thing I would call you is stupid (since of course, I"m not stupid:).

      I was kidding you - and there was a time that you would have seen that. I don't know if you're mad at me or just pissy about this - but I would NEVER treat you like a stupid woman - it just does not apply. "
