    About Me

    I am a 61 year old mother and grandmother. I am a retired cosmetologist.I have lost my husband of 32 years and find myself having a hard time trying to find a purpose in my life. I have had to learn how to take care of things that my husband always handled and find it very difficult to be alone. I do not know if I am ready to start over and beginning to date is scarey. Need friends to help support me in this new life.

    Interests

    I love to travel and see the world. I love all kinds of music, but mostly country music.I enjoy playing Bunko with my Bunko group, going out to eat, meeting new people and reading interesting books of all kinds.

      I lost my husband of 32 years in Dec. of 2005 to cancer of the esophagus. During this time frame my 30 year old daughter got involved in drugs and left her family.This has been the worse year of my life and I do not think I will ever get over it.I need to talk with people who know how I feel.I dont know how to live without him and his love in my life.I dont know who I am any more.I just feel lost and miss him so much.I hope this group can help me as I am so unhappy. jmk1973

      Zoloft Somewhat Helpful
      It seems to take the edge off and make me able to function somewhat better.
      Xanax Working / Worked
      It definately works to calm panic attacks and anxiety.

      Grief Counseling Somewhat Helpful
      went through grief counciling at the hospise where my husband died. It was more educational than one on one. Taught me about stages of grief
      Keeping Busy Working / Worked
      I find that the busier I stay the bettger off I am.
      Lexapro Not Working
      Tried it, but was more depressed on it than off of it. Took myself off of it...
      Music Working / Worked
      music soothes the soul
      Prayer Working / Worked
      I have always turned to God in prayer for all things. It keeps me grounded in my faith.
