Game Plan Mood
Thursday, October 8, 2009 | A General Update story

I had a good meeting w/the RE today (despite the fact that she mentioned that she could tell I had put on weight from the steroid.  grrrrrr.  I know it will be worth it, but grrrrr.)

Anyway, on to the good stuff...

I was scolded for not using condoms this month.  Really? Really?  So, we did a beta today.  The nurse said she call me tomorrow.  I am holding my breath.  Ha!

Continue with current meds...Neevo, extra Folic acid, Dexamethasone, baby aspirin.

I start Lupron on Sunday (I haven't taken this before I'd love any insight/experiences).

10/20 b/w and sono (and another beta just to be sure - ha!) Seriously, I appreciate the caution.

10/21 start Del Estrogen every 3rd day- we'll be doing IM estrogen this time - just for fun.  what's a couple more injections???

10/27 b/w sono

11/3 b/w sono stop Lupron/start progesterone :)

11/10 start Lovenox TRANSFER DAY!

I am hoping to have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Love to you all!

Lara

Lupron never really bothered me--headaches maybe but not terrible. Hopefully you won't even notice it! Having a plan is GREAT, and this seems like a really really good one! I'm really pulling for you with everything I've got--you and I will be transferring one day apart :)

I'm with you on the weight gain grrrr . . . nice of her to mention . . .

But way more exciting news!!! There's a couple types of Lupron (I know I've done it several ways). I did the micro dose daily injection with IVF before. I have also done one big shot of Lupron Depot (this time as well as the last 2 times.) Shot wasn't a big deal. Lupron seems to make me extra tired and I sometimes get bad headaches - but they are on and off. Other than extra sleep and pressing on trigger points on my head, I haven't found anything that helps . . . but I haven't found it too bad. You will do GREAT!!!! I'm SO excited for you!! I will be hoping with all I have that we both are extra thankful this year!!

This is your month! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a perfect cycle that results in a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Lupron was not my friend. I had horrible headaches and bloating/swelling. Hope it is nice to you though

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! I am SO happy for you! I've had some cycles with no real side affects from the Lupron and others where my migraines were incredibly horrible. Also, some cycles I was a bit moodier and a little bloated but nothing that bad (or at least I did not think so ;-)

I will tell you in advance that the Lovenox shots sting and burn some going in. There is a bubble in the vile that you do not want to get rid of before injecting the meds. It is supposed to help create an air pocket (maybe to help with bruising, I forget why...). You will bruise from the shots though, especially since they are blood thinners. My poor belly was like a mine field after a fresh IVF cycle followed by twice daily Lovenox shots!

I am extremely excited for you Lara and have a REALLY good feeling about this cycle! I have started sending up extra prayers, sending out all POSITIVE pregnancy vibes and as much sticky baby dust as I can find!

I love a game plan (and this is a great one!). I am so excited you are moving on to the FET. I gotta feeling this is IT, my friend! BTW, I had no issues with lupron.

Oooohhh how exciting!!!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this is going to be THE cycle!!!! Can't give you any input on Lupron - I never took it - but one of my girlfriends was on it for endometriosis and she had nasty headaches. Hope you have few - if any - side effects!

Lara, I'm sorry I haven't been on DS more to support you. I have been SOOOO sick the last 6 weeks. This is gonna sound awful, but I hope you get to experience this real soon. It sounds like you are off and running with a great cycle. I pray the Lupron is doing you right. I had virtually no side effects (maybe some mild tiredness) during my IVF cycles. I was on 10cc's. During my FET this summer I was on 20cc's. That was double the amount from the IVF cycles and BOY did it make a difference. Thank God it was summer because I could barely get off the couch and had whooper migraines about once a week. Everyone is different and it sounds like most don't have problems on it. Oh, it also made me gain 10 lbs, but as soon as I came off of it I had dropped 7 of those pounds within 5 days. Shew! ;) LOL!

I hope you are doing well. I can't wait to catch up and hear about your upcoming experiences. :)

Woo Hooo!!! You are well on your way to that BFP!! Lol about the weight thing, DH has been telling me since before beta that he thought we were having twins because I was already showing?? WTF??? If you see a man wandering down Penn. Ave. with two black eyes it's just my DH!!

I took Delestrogen every third day and those shots were a breeze. Are you doing PIO injections? If so, those I found to pinch a bit but once I got used to it it was ok. Yay!!!

Just caught up on your journals. I'm so glad your cycle is finally on its way! Praying this is it for you! Lupron made me exhausted, gave me headaches, hot flashes and serious night sweats. Hope it's better for you! Hugs and baby dust!

Lupron gave me wicked headaches, but as the only cycle I ever got pregnant from is the only one I used lupron in, so worth it!
