Close Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML)

I am a 42 year old married, father of 3 children. I was diagnosed with CML on Dec. 19th 2007. I was symptomatic with shortness of breath and left sided pain. A CBC picked up the high WBC's. Further blood tests confirmed CML.

Gleevec Working / Worked

I developed a rash, server headache, and joint pain soon after starting the Gleevec. The side effects have subsided greatly at this point. It seems to be working as far as bring the WBC down quickly. We will need to wait for approx. 2 months to see if to assure that the Gleevec is truly working.
