Close Epilepsy & Seizures
i have a 2 year old daughter and for the last 1 and half years has been having seisures.often temp related.tried lots treatment nothing seems to work.having lots of test as yet nothing has showed up.on average 3 fits a week.always tonic clonic.been ventilated 3 times.picks up every infection.parents as well as drs very worried as still no further forward.just keep living in hope.
Treatments
- Clobazam Not Working
- This drug stopped fits but made Beth like a zombie,didnt recognise family ,agitated,reduced quality of life.. ..When reducing she had 1 fit a daywhich never used to happen.Much more alert now reduced.But even autism was suggested on this drug but since reducing getting back to normal.i,mother had to nearly persuade the drs that we thought Beths problems,i.e not interacting was due to the clobazam.Even though Beth not still talking yet she is .smiling,recognising people again and babbling.
- Depakote Not Working
- Beth started on this treatment when having 2 fits.the second fit i had to resusitate her.Then started on this treatment but fits got worse so stopped.
- Keppra Not Working
- been on this drug now for few months but fits getting worse.
- Topamax Too Soon to Tell
- Beth due to start this tomorrow 23rd Jan.Whist we reduce Keppre.Will take 3 month.Also staying on half dose of clobazam for now.
