The computer. I love my MySpace friends and the DailyStrength community, email, etc. I enjoy collecting anything that is of a cardinal. My walls and shelves prove it. I enjoy reading about current events and all things Basset Hounds, including the one living with us.

Hug
One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say"I love you."
So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad habits and report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way.... Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile J can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.

LITTLE JOHNNY STRIKES AGAIN..........
The teacher asked the class to use the word "fascinate" in a sentence.
Molly put up her hand and said, "My family went to my grand dad's farm, and we all saw his pet sheep. It was fascinating."
The teacher said, "That was good, but I wanted you to use the word "fascinate, not fascinating".
Sally raised her hand. She said, "My family went to see Rock City and I was "fascinated."
The teacher said, "Well, that was good Sally, but I wanted you to use the word "fascinate."
Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher hesitated because she had been burned by little Johnny before. She finally decided there was no way he could damage the word "fascinate", so she called on him. Johnny said, "My aunt Gina has a sweater with ten buttons, but her tits are so big she can only fasten eight."
The teacher sat down and cried!

Close Families & Friends of Gays & Lesbians
Married 29 years. 15 years ago, found out hubby was bisexual. We stayed together on condition that "secret life" is over. Recently found evidence of him doing pics, secret email. We're trying to compromise on what will be allowed in the marriage for him to be able to continue that part of him. Anything physical on his part is not an option.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- We did 15 years ago when I first found out. Not sure it really did anything for us.
- Talking Working / Worked
- Finally broke my silence, and we are compromising on several levels for both of us to make this work. I am insisting on open communication. No more secrets!
- Writing Working / Worked
- Now that I'm able to vent the good, bad, I find it exhilerating. I'm writing about intimate things, hopes, things I hardly have nerve enough to say in real life.
Close Bisexuality

Open Hysterectomy
Had surgery to remove ruptured ovary. First menstrual period after surgery put me in hospital with agonizing pain, and each period thereafter. Dr. said total hyster only solution due to endometriosis. Where was endo when ovary ruptured? 6 months after ovarian surgery had hyster. I was 40.
Treatments
- Premarin Working / Worked
- Have been on it last 2 years. Taking only 3 days a week enough to keep hot flashes under control.
- Estratest Working / Worked
- Was the first med I took due to decreased sex drive and hot flashes. Never did much to up the sex drive but worked for hot flashes. Stopped because of reports about increase in breast cancer was actually named in study. Switched to Premarin.
- Estroven Not Working
- Tried for 4 months due to reports of increased breast cancer with some HRT. Did absolutely nothing for the hot flashes I was having.
Open Veterans
I was a Navy corpsman from Aug. '78 thru May '80. Was in just long enough to qualify for veteran. I am proud of my service and proud to be called a veteran. God bless all that serve and have served, no matter how short or long their time was. Just wanted to be part of this support group.
Open Arthritis
Mom crippled in nearly every joint by age 60 with osteo. I now have in both knees and and right hand, worstening the last 10 years.
Treatments
- Glucosamine/Chondroitin Not Working
- My orthopedic dr. recommended it after scoping my knees. After 5 years, and the expense, took myself off of it and didn't notice any difference, so didn't work in the first place.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- Even 800mg prescription strength, I didn't notice any improvement in pain.
- Lodine Working / Worked
- I take when pain develops from Supartz injections wearing off. When I resort to pain med, it means its time to restart the injections.
