Close Bipolar Disorder
I've been diagnosed for five years. I've been looking for the perfect cocktail ever since. I was undiagnosed for about ten years.
Treatments
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
- Worked incredibly well. Its better than talk therapy, for me, because I like to be solution oriented.
- Geodon Not Working
- I gained almsot fifty pounds of water weight in a month, by the time the swelling went down (after i quit taking it) my muscles had atrophied. walking with crutches is not fun!
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- Group therapy can work with the right moderator. No wimps need apply! :)
- Lamictal Not Working
- Not working. Mixed episode, it's not doing anything. I keep bleeding and my doctor won't take me off of it.
- Lithium Somewhat Helpful
- Great mood stabilization, BAD side effects. I went toxic within a week of taking it. went from a size 18 to a size 26 in a month in conjunction with the geodon. But, man, were my moods ever stable!
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- Seroquel worked well for me, I stopped taking it because in conjunction with the Trileptal, I slept for 14 hours a night on average. Weight gain is an issue as well.
- Trileptal Not Working
- Didn't stabilize my mania/mixed states enough for real functioning. No side effects. Trileptal interfered with ALL of my other rx, so check drug interactions!
