Hello!! I'm 40 y.o & I was diagnosed with SLE w/kidney disease in 1996. I had swelling in my knees & feet and I lost some of my hair. I had a real bad flare up in 1998 and was fine until 2006, when I fell ill w/stomach flu. My life has not been the same since. The virus caused my kidneys to start failing. I'm currently in the processing of completing the necessary tests in order to be placed on the kidney transplant list.

I love to read and watch sports. I love football, basketball, track & field, tennis, baseball and on and on. My husband sometimes thinks I one of the fellows because I know so much about sports. I also enjoy playing with my two dogs daily.

Hi there im in the same postision as you are ,they found my Lupus in 2002 i already had kidney diease {sorry about the spelling) i am a mum of 8 and find it so hard to cope at times i am really interested how your kidneys are being treated and the lupus my doctor is hopeless he blames all on the steriods anyway hope this find you in good health and hope to hear from you sometime

I was diagnosed with SLE w/kidney disease in 1996. I had bad flare in 1998 but other than that I was doing fine until 3/06 when I had a stomach flu and upper respiratory infection, which made my lupus flare -up. At this point now, I need a kidney transplant. I'm in the process of completing the tests and will soon be placed on the list. My family keeps me positive but I still have moments of depression regarding my illness.
