About Me
I drank for most of my life. Mind you, I am only 28. I was just a kid when I started, at 11. I started trying to get sober a year and a half ago. The longest I've been able to go sober was almost 6 months, at one point. I am on day two now. The reason why I need to give up drinking is because it almost killed me. I have suffered from depression, and have been diagnosed with bipolar and a personality disorder, and I can trace the mood "disorder" symptoms to starting when my drinking career began. Do I think they are related? Definitely. I know that if I continue to drink, I will commit suicide. There is no question in my mind. Getting sober and going to AA helped me to rekindle my relationship with my God. I am a Catholic and though I no longer go to AA, I attend church weekly and pray daily. I do not want to commit suicide any longer. God has given me a gift of life, has saved my life numerous times. Why would I be so selfish as to throw that away?
