      I am 39 in March and my DH Allan is 43 we have been trying to conceive for almost 3 years. We fall into the unexplained fertility category - I have had a high a FSH reading of 16.7 in Sept, but a 7 in Oct and then back up to a 12.5 in November and then a 12 in Dec.. On the 4th round of IUI with Gonal F, we got our first ever BFP on Christmas Eve..unfortunatley our 3rd beta number started to go down and I lost the pregnancy. So here we are starting out 2009 and I know this is our year!!

      I love to cook, golf, read, host dinner parties, hang with my girlfriends, and spoil my nieces rotten!! I have a beautiful chocolate lab named Reilly, she is my beautiful fur baby!!

      So it is for sure that my cycle will be converted to an IUI (which will be on Sunday) the 1 and only follie is still growing into what will be …

      Thanks for asking how I'm doing. I guess the answer is O.K. I just wish that the 25th would be hear already and we could see a heartbeat. Even if we do I want to see my progesterone climbing again, it just feels too much like last time for comfort. Trying to just be happy that we got PG when I really didn't expect it to work.       Sue, I can always count on your awesome, positive attitude. Thank you! We're planning to do an OI cycle, followed by IVF in January (if necessary). And yes, we should absolutely plan a weekend away. Somewhere warm and sunny would be my vote! Big hugs to you!

    • Close Infertility

      We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Elevated FSH level was 7.9 Nov 07 and now Sept 08 up to 16.7. First IUI with 50mg of clomid-BFN. IUI #2 100mg clomid - FSH level 7!! - BFN IUI #3- FSH 12.5-injectables Gonal F- 150 mg days 3-7 - BFN IUI #4 - FSH 12 - 225 units of gonal f- BFP- decreased 3rd beta ended in early Miscarriage. IUI #5 in Feb - 225 units of gonal f - BFN. IVF- Scheduled for May/June

      Treatments

      Artificial Insemination Not Working
      IUI #1 - BFN,IUI #2- BFN IUI #3-BFN, IUI #4 - BFP - ended in miscarriage. IUI#5 FEb- BFN
      Clomid Not Working
      no side effects with 50 mg day 3-7. no side effects with 100mg for IUI #2 but still BFN!! I did have 3 follicles per IUI so I did respond to the medication 100 mg this time- a few headaches but nothing else.
      Folic Acid Working / Worked
      taking 4mg with a B12 added of 1000mg. Seems to be working
      hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Working / Worked
      had my first BFP after my 4th IUI - unfortunatley ended in a early miscarriage.
      HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Somewhat Helpful
      Very painful
      Ovulation Predictor Kit Working / Worked
      addicted, they work for me. I have no problem ovulating
