About Me

I am a pediatric charge nurse, mother of a 16 year old daughter, and have been married 17 years to a wonderful man. We met when I was 17, he was 27, got engaged on our first date, and were married as soon as I turned 18. We have been inseparable ever since. Our daughter is a beautiful, straight A student who works at a local animal hospital and wants to be a veterinarian. We have 3 big beautiful dogs, 2 Golden Retrievers and a Yellow Lab/Harrier (rabbit=hare) Hound mix. We call them "the Girls", Maggie Daisy, and Gypsy. The Golden, Maggie, we rescued at age 9 months from the SPCA, Daisy we rescued and saved after being hit by a car as a 6 month old puppy from off of the side of the road. Gypsy was saved from the executioner, so to speak. She had been dropped off at the vet to be euthanised for heartworms after being in a physically abusive and neglectful home. She was and is just 3 years old. My daughter was holding her when the vet pushed the ketamine and before she pushed the euthanol she asked her to wait while she called her Dad. We are all pushovers for a good dog, so now all 3 girls are thriving! I am also a firefighter and run rescue.
