I am 49 years old, had an acute MI X-mas Eve., 2005 I had complications due to COPD and shock. Was in intensive care for 3 weeks, had total organ shut down. Just recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, need to take insulin shots. Not very happy about that. Right now they are looking at me for a heart transplant possibly a heart/lung. I am married have 2 grown children and have an 8 year old grandson, who lives with us and is the light of my life. Maybe thats why the guy upstairs wanted to keep me around for a while...who knows.

Close Heart Failure
Hi! had AMI 12/26/05 life threatning, angioplasty w/stent, total organ shut down, recovered, then got pneumonia, discovered I have CHF inserted ICD in Oct.06, on a multitude of meds. Went to Cardiac Rehab 10 wks, now in maint. for 6, thats all folks
Treatments
- Advair Working / Worked
- Have been using for a couple of years for asthma, when I had MI discovered I have COPD
- Carvedilol Working / Worked
- Dr.'s Keep upping the dose seems to work
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Have to go for blood tests regularly
- Lasix Working / Worked
- Seems to work if I feel extra fluid on board I have to take 20 mg.s more--get 1 blood test per mo.
- Lipitor Working / Worked
- Could not prescribe this til my liver function was better, seems to work
- Prevacid Working / Worked
- ASA hard on my stomach
- Ramipril Working / Worked
- Keep increasing the dose

Open Diabetes Type 2
I am new to the Diabetes community but I am not new to Daily Strength, I am in the Heart Attack, Congestive Heart Failure, groups, I have just been informed that I am Diabetic, there is no Diet and Exercise for me, no meds, my Doc. is Putting me Directly on Insulin Injections, I know nothing about Diabetes, in fact I can't even spell it right. I am, scarred and I need help with dealing with this illness, I am being tested presently to have a heart transplant, I need to get healthy.
Treatments
- Altace Working / Worked
- Yes working, B/P right now is running 76/30, many side effects take major dose at bed time
- Eating Healthier Foods Somewhat Helpful
- On a Heart Smart Diet, Sodium Restricted no Trans or Saturated fats
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Considering
- Will be Starting the Insulin Shots at the End of Next week, The Doc. wants to test for 1 more week.
Open Families & Friends Of Addicts
I have a 31 yr. old son and a 28 yr. old daughter both crack addicted, I have custody of my daughters son. My son lives on the streets, my Daughter says she is not a crack head she hasn't lost anything eg. her job, her house but I HAVE HER SON. I need to talk with other people that are sitting in my boat. I've already had a heart attack and can't handle the stress of this.
