I am doing much better then I was in November. Our business is struggling to survive but we are pushing through. Thank God we own our home and car, we have zero invested in anything other than hardgoods. Now we just need more weddings or events.
I actually, contacted the local MS Society and offered to help them design and throw a stellar Gala. We met with her in our home, discussed my situation with MS, discussed the new mission for the SW Ohio organization and discussed the fall gala.
5 weeks pass and we recieve a call from her. She was wondering if we would give them 30 centerpieces for their event. 30.........really.............Really? Give them. OMG. I don't understand how someone can sit and talk to us and leave with nothing retained from said conversation.
We told her that we were a fledgling company and had little to give other than our talent and out time. If they cover the cost of goods we would not charge for our labor. A donation of time I find to be more valuable than monetary or gift donations.
Subsequently, we have heard nothing since. WOW! I don't get people somtimes. I hate this something for nothing culture we currently live in. It sucks!! I don't have anything to give. I just need the work.

Sounds like they don't have much of a budget for events - maybe other organizations do. United Way and American Heart seem to have money. Too bad that our own organization can't be more supportive though!
