Close Chronic Pain
I am 35 yr old female who was hit by a car in August of 2004. After the accident I found out that I my elbow was broke with nerve damage.I had surgery November of 2005 and since then I continue to be in constant pain that has affected my life.I must have medication or i will not be able to perform daily activities and I will be in pain. Recently because of this accident I found out that I have a disease called RSD. I cope as best as i can. I suffer with constant and relentless pain daily!
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Has worked in the past. But I started having reactions to this medicine because I was taking another drug that conteracted with cymbalta
- Flexeril Considering
- I take flexril often but I 'm not sure if is good for long term use. It relieves pain in my back
- Heat Working / Worked
- Works very well for my back pain along with a nsaid medication
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Very Helpful. I am able to lead a normal life. There are problems with getting doctors to prescribe because it is addicting. Side effects include some nausea, and sleepiness but this is not bothersome to me
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Lyrica is good and best for ulnar neuropathy but I have noticed swelling in my feet and mouth I have been advised not to take this drug
- Morphine Somewhat Helpful
- Very strong medicine. Doesn't work very well for me because it causes a lot of nausea and dizziness. It affects my personality often. I avoid taking it most of the time although my doctor doesn't have a problem with prescribing this for me
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- Very helpful for back pain
- Neurontin Not Working
- works well for ulnar neuropathy but causes sedation that is dangerous for trying to lead a normal life. I have had falling accidents from taking neurotin
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- I have had a total of 8 weeks of occupational therapy and failed at many attempts because of the pain that i'm in
- Tramadol Working / Worked
- Worked well for me. side effects include shaking feeling. There was a conflict between taking tramadol and cymbalta. Unfortunately I am not able to take ultram for these reasons.
Close Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
I recently found out I have RSD and the pain I have is constant and horrible. This is following a car accident in 2004. I had a fractured elbow and some tingling and numbness in the right fingers. I had surgery in 2005. I can safely say that since my surgery I never got better. In fact my pain got worse. I have had several MRI's and a nerve conduction test that came back abnormal. While this was the case, doctors still couldn't explain the degree of pain I was having. .....
