I believe some of us with GD have been hyper so long and once treated the docs are confused as to why we don't respond like"normal" people. We hell were not normal all of our organs have been taxed to the end and when the thyroxine is supposedly out of our systems. Labs are decieving are bodies are decieving have you tried armour might be easier on you as its a natural hormone also I've had to go from synthroid to Lthyroxine and back again. We are hyper sensitive to everything inside and outside and its so hard to get heard. Maybe ask about armour. Also there is a theory that we have stockpiled our thyroxine in other glands, or organs which is hard to prove and find. Just some thoughts hope they help. Even though you've had a hysterectomy you might get a panel done of all your hormones might help.it also cks your pituatary. Hugs Mary

My first endo from many yrs ago. I tried many thyroid replacements. I finally ended up on Lthyroxine for about 20yrs and then had to chg to synthroid. He told me not to have a hysterectomy as I couldn't absorb synthetic hormones. So sorry your still having problems. Have they checked your female hormone levels as they do mess with our thyroid levels somehow. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs Mary

Close Graves' Disease
I have a severe form of Graves Disease. I have been on treatment for 6-mo's. It's ravaging my body. Damaged my Heart and now attacking my eyes.
Treatments
- Methimazole Too Soon to Tell
- The experience is not pleasant. I am on my 3rd dosage change. I seem to be getting worse. I am on 40mil a day.
- Atenolol Somewhat Helpful
- Heart rate was at 165 resting. I am now down to 128 resting. Like doing Constant Cardio..LOL
