I am a married father of a bright 14 year-old child. I am looking for someone to communicate with regarding coping skills for someone recovering from encephalitis. I was diagnosed and began treatment for encephalitis in Novemver 2007 and am in process of recovery. I would like to contact others and share experiences with them.

Close Encephalitis
I was hospitalized in November 2007 and diagnosed with meningitis and encephalitis. Since then I have had problems with memory, mental agility, balance, coordination, sleep cycle as well as other brain trauma problems.
Close Depression
I am in recovery from encephalitis. My wife says my personality has changed since I became ill. She doesn't relate to me emotionally. Now I feel isolated and very depressed.

Open Brain Injury
I am in recovery from meningitis and encephalitis. My neurologist compared the brain trauma to someone in a severe motorcycle accident without a helmet. I've been having a very difficult time adjusting to my new self. I developed my illness in October, 2007 and I am experiencing a variety of problems. My personality has changed. My mind is not as quick as it was. My personal relationships have suffered.
