Hey sweeheart! How are ya and the boys doing? Been a long haul here..we are doing better though..I was injured in a car accident ....on my way home from seeing my son when he had to be hospitalized for the 2nd time..I am trying to recover..sorry that I haven't gotten back in touch with ya..I will try and do better! Close Bipolar Disorder
i need some advice for my children. they are bipolar, ADD, and ODD. mental health wants only play therapy with dicipline to follow. but we need dicipline now. we are not really sure what to do.. nothing helps. so i hoped to get advice from the people on this site.
Treatments
- Abilify Somewhat Helpful
- youngest son takes it. helps with rages but they're still there.
- Depakote Not Working
- youngest son used but did little help.
- Geodon Not Working
- youngest son hospitalized after using it for two weeks.
- Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
- youngest son takes and helps cut down the number of rages.
- Seroquel Not Working
- both children took this medicine. it seemed to have made them worse.
- Tenex Somewhat Helpful
- ODD daughter little calmer after taking.
- Invega Working / Worked
Close Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
6 year old daughter swears screams and call names from morning to night. needs advice on how to handle her. its getting worse from play therapy. but thats the only thing we can do right now. so we need advice DESPERATELY.

- currently using. seems to calm her down.

- calmed her down some.. but very little.
- Prozac Working / Worked
- it just made her sleepy.

- its great at the time shes doing it. but then she gets angry when its time to stop. and the rest of the day is twice as bad without it.

we have 3 adopted kids we had in fostercare. 2 have any problems. ODD Bi-polar ADHD and now I am thinking maybe schizophrenia from what i have read. Not much out there for help so maybe someone here could help.

I have a 6 year old boy who has been dx as bi-polar because his bio-mom is but have reason to think it could be pws

My adopted son has Pdd-NOS. Dr won't say autism because he makes great eye contact and is very friendly with adults not kids. He flaps nice hands and ears too

Open Back Pain
I also had to retire at age 41 due to a back injury. It has progressed over the years to the point that I must use a wheelchair. I have bone grafts and metal implants at 7 levels, rods to attempt (didn't work) to straighten my back. I have had 7 surgeries overall.
Treatments
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- I tried this several times but it just didn't help
- Bedrest Somewhat Helpful
- I find that sleeping is the only escape from the pain.
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- They simply did no good
- Epidural Injection Somewhat Helpful
- The relief lasted only for about 1/2 hour.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- It feels good while it is on but the relief soon goes away
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- Hydrocodone helped a little bit. But was overall unsuccessful
- Morphine Not Working
- I apparently am alergic to Morphine. I get mean and very forgetfull.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- I have tried physical theraby many times, but to no avail
- Relaxation Somewhat Helpful
- Again it works while I am doing this, but the pain returns as soon as I move again.
- Stretching Not Working
- Stretching just makes the pain worse
- TENS Working / Worked
- I am alergic to the adhesive patches for the tens, I had the Neurostimulator 10 years ago but got a staph infection and I have been told that staph livesin scar tissue for life, so I cannot find a doctor to put it in again. The all say that should I get the staph infection again I would kill me due to all the hardware in my back
