Journal Entry for March 2, 2007 Mood

Why do people sign up for websites to help them find an exercise buddy if they have no actual desire to either find an exercise buddy or go to the freakin' gym?
I signed up for www.eXerciseFriends.com a couple of months ago and emailed EVERYONE (approx. 15 people) in my area to see if they wanted to work out. NO ONE has emailed me back. Seriously. NO ONE. WTF???? My profile is pretty detailed, so they don't think I'm some weirdo rapist, I have offered help to those who need motivation, I have put down that I am interested in every activity under the sun, I have said that I can work out at THREE different gyms, or am willing to just walk out in nature. And NO ONE has written me back.
It is this type of attitude that pisses me off the most. I can't stand people who don't do what they say they're going to do or who wimp out or who are just plain LAZY. I guess they are doing me a favour not writing me back, since they would probably just bail on me at the last minute anyway. Fucking useless!!! I'm going to the gym this afternoon with my husband. At least I can get up off my ass and be productive!!

Yikes! I would have to guess that your level of fitness might be intimidating to MOST people. People who generally sign up for these sites are intimidated to start working out anyway and we all want someone who is most like us so that we are comfortable. That's my best guess! Good luck! Glad you are going with your hubby. (BTW there are so many of us that don't do what we say we are going to do because we are scared. Wimpy people are annoying, no doubt....but intentions are good and that's the first step. As I'm sure I'm annoying you now at this point, I'll sign off and hope your workout rocks!)
