Melatonin Working / Worked

We used to use this for sleep. He had to have it at least 1 hour, but less than 3, after the Seroquel or he still did not sleep. When we switched from Seroquel beck to risperidone the melatonin seemed to cause side effects so we stopped it.

Prozac Working / Worked

Used either for anxiety or to ameliorate the side effects of the Seroquel. The Fluoxetine works really well, but started causing some touching side effects after a couple of months. When we switched from Seroquel back to risperidone we were able to stop the fluoxetine (Prozac)

RDI Considering

I have read their information and would really like to try this, but it is too expensive and not usually covered by insurance.

Risperdal Working / Worked

We tried this a couple of years ago. It worked really well for both aggression and sleep, but only for about 6 months. Then we had to switch. We are back on the risperidone now. It works o.k. for aggression most of the time. I think it may be causing him headaches though. Also, occasionally we need Benadryl for sleep.

Seroquel Working / Worked

It works OK for aggression and helps with sleep. But he still cannot sleep w/o both Seroquel AND Melatonin. Also causes some s/e that we had to add fluoxetine to help with. We have stopped this now and returned to risperidone.
