Mother. Mood
Thursday, October 15, 2009 | A Sad story

Tomorrow, had she lived on, my mother would have been 88.  She was claimed by a nasty hospital infection April of 2007.  She was a brilliant woman, who lived too far up in her head to ever have been able to show a lot of love to her little eldest son, who is now the head of her family.  So to my mom, whom I never really got the chance to know, I want you to know in the place where you now live in total joy, that at last I understand you, love you, and thank you for the blessing you were to me all my days.  Your wisdom DID pass to me and my brothers and sisters.  You DID love us.  You were and are a human being of incredible character and strength.  I am sad this moment because I never was able to say in words how much I love you, and I regret the things I used to say when I was such a practicing "Drama King".  So, the angels will throw you an even bigger party than you are having right now, and maybe my Green Angel will be among them.  That character really gets around!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Bob, this is beautifully expressed! It reminisces of memories of my own mother. She was to me a steady light in my world, someone for whom I held DEEP respect and love. And I told her so many times. She taught me to survive, respect my self and others as they deserved --- and sometimes not so deserved.

Showing love and affection is different for everyone. I'm sure she loved all of you and still looks down on everyone with joy. Don't worry about things said in the ignorance of youth and in the past, she knows how you felt then and now. You should have your own celebration for her birthday!! God Bless

I love this tribute to your dear Mother Bob. It also reminds me of my own Mother - brilliant as well but severly depressed - also unable to show much love & affection to her six children ONLY because of depression. I am glad your Mother was able to live a long time unlike mine. Hugs :)

All of you three who read my amends to my mother are angels. You have a friend in me who will hear if you call, and come running. Fact.
