Iv and sedation nurse at large pediatric hospital, wife, and mom to 3 kids, 2 dogs, 2fish, and 2 frogs, work 2 12 hour shifts a week. Flipped a house this past summer and fell off a ladder and broke my leg (which went undetected for 3 weeks because x-ray was read as negative)until MRI revealed top of fibula had been crushed. Possible torn calf muscle. Think that is where PE came from

Hi Teri. Just checking in. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Hope all is going well. Take care.
Teri, I am glad you are staying on the blood thinner. I have been arguing with my PCP over the same issue. He feels the risk of a major bleed is higher than my getting a blood clot again. I told him I disagree because he can't tell me why I got it and that reason is no longer a concern. Interesting that the cardiologist tells me he believes I had a PE last year and that it was not treated (after reviewing my files from ER and my PCP). He too says I should remain on the thinners as my most recent PE appears to have been unprovoked. Glad you have the strength to keep pushing forward and doing what makes the best sense for you. You and Joyce have given me lots of strength and I appreciate every thing you write. Take care and thanks for staying strong.
Teri, You are the Gold at the end of my rainbow, Thanks for always being there for me.

As I remind myself daily, DEEP CLEANSING BREATHS, DEEP CLEANSING BREATHS, DEEP CLEANSING BREATHS.
Thanks for your post. I too have tachycardia, but it is improving. I am 5 weeks after diagnosis of bilateral PE with multiple embolii in both lungs. My cardiologist has refered me to a special pulmonary hypertension cardiologist. He told me that most cardiologists like himself are trained in issues concerning the left side of the heart and that I needed a cardiologist that deals with the pulmonary side. He thinks my right ventricle is have some issues from the extra exertion caused by the PE. Hope yours has resolved and that you are feeling much better. Take care and thanks again for the post.

I found out I had a "small chronic PE" after several weeks of having trouble breathing and terrible chest pain. Placed on Coumadin and sent home. A week later could not stand up without feeling like I was going to pass out. Found out after being in the hospital again that I had developed a condition where just standing up and minimal activity caused my heart rate to go way up, and making me feel like I was going to pass out. Placed on a heart medicine. Frustrated with slow recovery.
