    • About Me

I am the oldest of 5 siblings and my parents are divorced. I love to write and listen to music. I have great friends and an amazing, supportive boyfriend. I really want to hear how other people cope with autoimmune diseases, because sometimes I just want to scream. Especially since they haven't ruled out which type of autoimmune disease I have yet. I'm up for any suggestions and ideas that can help my case.

    • Close Lupus

I have been sick for the past six years. Doctors thought I had tonsilitis, until they took my tonsils out and I still became very ill quite frequently. It wasn't until this past summer when new symptoms developed that I spent four days in the hospital, with every type of doctor checking me out. I still do not have a definitive diagnosis, but they are almost positive that I have lupus. I have 6/11 symptoms, but there is another complication. I was also

      Treatments

      Prednisone Working / Worked
gave me insomnia, and frequent trips to the bathroom...but it worked immediately
      Sleep Working / Worked
Sleeping on a schedule, routine basis really helps. Rest as often as possible when flares occur.
    • Close Lyme Disease

Somehow, I have both early stage Lyme disease and Lupus. I was just treated for Lymes with a little over 1 month of 2 different antibiotics. This lead me to get C.Diff. I just want to catch a break!!!!

      Treatments

      Amoxicillin Too Soon to Tell
After one week it started to affect my stomach. I became nauseated.
      Ceftriaxone Too Soon to Tell
After being on meds for a few weeks, my stomach became highly irritated and upset.
    • Open Anxiety

      Treatments

      Lexapro Working / Worked
It has helped me out dramatically-- mostly with my irritability and mood swings. I feel much more level headed and grounded. I still will feel a slight pang of anxiety sometimes, but not nearly as bad! It has helped me out a lot and I highly recommend it.
      Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
      Xanax Working / Worked
I take it as needed for huge panic attacks. It works sometimes more then others.
    • Open Environmental Allergies

I am allergic to everything under the sun! I've learned to live with it though.

      Treatments

      Allegra Working / Worked
      Works great!
      Flonase Working / Worked
      Patanol Working / Worked
      Helped... very itchy eyes.
      Sudafed Not Working
      Makes me extremely drowsy.
      Zyrtec Not Working
Made me drowsy but did not work
    • Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I am pretty positive I have CFS instead of Lupus or Rhuematoid Arthritis, considering my bloodwork only indicated an autoimmune when I had Lymes. Since I've been treated for Lymes, I still get the same flares, but my bloodwork appears normal. I had Mono when I was 15, and have been getting sick ever since. My Rheumy doctor thinks I have this, but hasn't given the final diagnosis yet.

    • Open Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

Whenever I eat certain foods or go a certain period of time with out eating (like 4 hours), I get suddenly shaky, weak, lose sight and feel nauseated. If I don't take care of the symptoms by eating immediately, I will faint or throw up.
