Journal Entry for March 4, 2009
Had another post-op with the finger doc today. Finger is in alignment but not healing as expected; no new bone. I don't have to …
I am 59 years old, single (twice-divorced), and live in a small town with my seven dogs & three cats (my furbabies). I relocated here in Sept. 2004 after I became too disabled to continue my job. Since I've lived here I've been mostly housebound, leaving my house out of necessity only. In 1994 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I'd never heard of it! FibroWhat??? My diagnosis came after a year of begging my PCP for HELP and two diagnoses that were proved false (rheumatoid arthritis & TMJ). I lived in Portland, OR at the time. Within a 30-day period in 1997, my father died, my marriage "officially" died, and my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I moved to Arkansas to be close to my mother. During that same year I accepted a job as Victim/Witness Coordinator for the judicial district in which I lived, and held that position until I resigned in 2004. In 2003 my mother (a breast cancer survivor) married her college sweetheart and moved to his home in another state. When my health deteriorated to a point where it couldn't be ignored, my cousins convinced me to move to Benton. Several of my cousins and their families live here. So, here I am; unemployed, my insurance long-gone, and no SS hearing after two years. Lo!

My interests have been on hold for awhile now. I love the artsy stuff; ceramics & painting. I've always been a voracious reader & love books. I am a "Kraaazy Animal Person" & hope to learn how to help in the fight against animal abuse & cruelty on my computer. Since I have recently rediscovered my computer, I've thought about looking for an online creative writing class. I really need to find a way to use the net to make money. I would welcome any suggestions.

As long as I have breath and computer it will be regular....uh oh,.,,,sounds a bit like prunes....LOL
I started smoking my 1st semester of college & have smoked since; 41 yrs. I've had chronic bronchitis & respiratory problems for years & several bouts of pneumonia. Sinusitis & allergies are also a problem. In '04 I had surgery for bladder cancer. My physician told me that if I didn't quit smoking, the cancer would definitely return. Have I seriously tried to quit? No. No. No. Lo! I'll say "I'm going to cut down". But really never do. And now I smoke more than ever. Can I quit?
I was diagnosed with Hypoglycemia (Extremus) in 1976. Prior, based on a 3 hr GT test I was misdiagnosed as Diabetic. I haven't had any refined sugar in my diet since. I'm also very sensitive to fructose, carbs & starches. My Endo told me that my Hypo was stress-reactive as well as diet-sensitive, and has proved to be the case. He also told me that he & his collegues knew of only one other case as severe as mine. I lived in Houston at the time. In 1994 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Oh, Good Griefness! My story is sooo long I don't know if anyone could take it all in one swoop. Lo. Here's a brief synopsis. Was diagnosed with 1. Extreme hypoglycemia in 76. 2. Chem-induced clinical depression in 85. 3. Fibromyalgia in 94. Psychoanalyzed in 83. I saw my psych off & on from 83 - 86. Since I was diagnosed with Fibro, I've seen 3 psychs. Each time I've seen a new doc re help for Fibro, I'm sent to a psych. See one now every 3 months & a therapist every other week.
I was diagnosed with Hypo (extremus) in 1977 and Fibro in 1994. I managed to work until 09/2004 when it became obvious to everyone that I was too ill to work. Once again I began to seek help from the medical community. My cousin paid for my group ins. coverage to extend 18 months; the longest extension possible. Next month it will be two years I've been without insurance. I've been unable to get prescriptions, keep doctor or screening appointments in two years. No ins, income or SS Hearing.
I'm divorced and live with my several animals in a small Arkansas town. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 1996, and recently received a SS Disability. I haven't been able to work since 9/2004. After a couple of people told me that, to them, my symptoms sounded like I have Myofascial Pain Syndrome, I did google and must agree with them. I also have extreme reactive hypoglycemia. My family doc knows nothing about Myofascial Pain nor does he know of anyone who treats it.
