I am 47, live in outer Melbourne. I work 3 days a week in the city for 5 hours which is all I can manage. I was dx in October 2005 & put on betaferon immediately & reacted then on Avonex & reacted again so off that. Was on a drug trial but got taken off that. Currently on no medication. Have been in & out of hospital too many times with several doses of methylpred. Now using a walker permananetly & a scooter when outside & to get to work & out etc. Each flare up leaves me worse than before.

Interests
I enjoy going away on our caravan as much as we can. I read novels of a variety of sorts, maily light reading due to concentration problems. Sometimes I do some crocheting & latch hook rugs or cushions. I also have a web page with all my photos & my story on it. I am going to read your journal, and see how things are going. I still have pain, what I miss most is going out every day on the scooter, don't think I will ever go on a surface that is not absolutely flat again. I found out my back was worse than I thought, and then I thought God thank you that I am still walking. Got to start that grateful journal.

It was pretty bad. It has aggravated my ms symptoms, and some back problems.
The back problems are caused by the dystonia. I pulled so hard for so many years the dystonia actually twisted my spine, I found out I also have some osteo arthritis, and some narrowing discs in my back.
Thanks for your support too. I think that is why we are all put on earth to support eachother. Love, Angela

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSI was dx in October 2005 after lots of tests & had no idea that was what they were testing me for so was in shock. Told Husband & a few cose friends then & a week later told parents. In November 2005 Dad had a stroke & passed away in December & then I had a major flare up in February 2006. Don't think I had a chance to take in what it meant to it. It took months with rehab to get over the flare up & have had more since. I am now use walker/scooter to get about Love caravanning & work 3 days.
Treatments
- Avonex Not Working
- Off it now as my body wouldnt tolerate it
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- On 4x25mg a day to control spasms & cramps. Works well at that level
- Beta Interferon Not Working
- Off it now as my body wouldnt tolerate it
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- Aim to go 2 times a week & it helps to maintain what strength I have left
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I am back on it for a few days as having a flare caused by the heat. Always get hungry, hypo at times, & put on more weight
Close Eczema
I have had eczema since birth & it keeps coming back especially with change of seasons.
Treatments
- Aloe Vera Working / Worked
- I have used pure aloe vera on my skin & it is soothing & also drink pure aloe regularly which helps moisturise from the inside
- Betamethasone (Topical) Working / Worked
- I use it on areas that are cracked, weepy etc. Fingers, elbows, wrists, & feet are worse at present.
- Evening Primrose Oil Working / Worked
- I take epo capsules every day to help moisturise from the inside. I notice my skin dries more if I miss it for a few days so it must be working.
Open Shingles
I had shingles back in school, have had it 2 more times as an adult, last one I was in hospital as it was severe & right around my trunk. I got it again last year, not as bad - on right side of body & now got it again on left side ribs front area & up to the arm pits.
Open Cushing's Syndrome
Have ms & been on steroids for that. When last saw neurologist he said I have cushings disease. Didnt tell me anything about it except never to have steroids again which is hard as it helps to get through the ms flare ups. I have got the moon face, weight gain & probably others.
Open Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
I have superficial vein thrombosis so if I am in the right place. My left foot swelled up & was red 6 weeks, I saw my Dr & he sent me for doppler test& it showed I have superficial vein thrombosis. This is in the outer viens not the main ones. Have been wearing support stockings for about 3 weeks & the red has gone but the swelling hasnt. Now I have another very sore patch on the inner calf that is swelling not red. That is what my foot did too. Very painful to walk or stand.
Treatments
- Aspirin Not Working
- Havent been put on anything else as on lots of meds with ms hemiplegic migraines asthma allergies excema etc. Sure dont need this as well.
Open Diverticulitis
Been told I have Diverticular disease & it could be diverticulitis
Open Epilepsy & Seizures
Dr suspects I have epilepsy & if so it is scaring me
