Sad Experience For All
Dear DS Friends,
First the good news. I successfully completed my detox off the fentyl patch and the dilaudid after …
A former teacher. Now disabled with fibromiaga, bipolar disorder, and serious back and neck problems. I was told that I was disabled when I was 31 and now I am 59. That's a lot of years to live in pain! I also have post- tramatic stress disorder, and ADD.I graduated from the Univ. of FL in Gainsville, FL and got a bachelor's degree in English education and journalism. I was married for 32 years to a high school sweetheart who turned out to be a Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde. In high school he was voted most likely to succeed, and he was president of the class and president of student council. He always appeared charming to those who thought they knew him. The abuse was our dirty, little "secret". He was an alcoholic and a drug addict and did not get sober until after we divorced. When it became obvious that my life was in danger, I finally got the courage to divorce him.It was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I remarried 6 months later, and now have a beautiful relationship with the best man imaginable. He was an alcoholic but has 15 yrs. sobriety. I have never seen him take a drink. Right after we got married, we discovered he had advanced prostate cancer. He was given 2 years to live. It is now almost 4 years later and he is doing poorly. Actually, he's in poor health due to COPD and cancer. He continues to smoke, and the cancer is nolonger in remission. I have a beautiful daughter, Lisa(32); and a handsome, John, (34)that I dearly love. Our babies at home are two small toy poodles named Angel and Bocefus. Will start an editing job for a publishing company in 2008 if all goes well. I'll be reading scripts and editing them if they are worth publishing. My daughter Lisa is pregnant and I'm expecting my 1st grandchild in March! It it with great grief that I must share this. My grandson died in utero when he was 5 months old. He had no heartbeat, and my daughter had to have a D&C. We pray she can get pregant again despite her polycystic oviarian disease. They can start trying again in March. Please pray for them.

I love fishing, playing with my two small toy poodles, seeing movies, watching TV, crafts, and landscaping and gardening, I'm addicted to gambling, but I have it under control now. I love my computer and playing computer games. I love to read and do crossword puzzles. I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by going to Hawaii thanks to 2 of my DS friends who live there, and a husband who knows how to save money. The hightlight of my trip was being with my friends. The trip would have been nothing without them. They showed me what true love and acceptance are really about, and for that I'm eternally grateful!

Thank you for the poem and Erma Bombeck's list. I just talked with my youngest son Adi in the Air Force. He has been taking piano lessons 1 mo now and played classical music to me over the phone. He invested in an 88 key keyboard. In August he will get a promotion and try to get a place of his own. It made me really happy that his life is going so well.
I'm Elainebrwn. I'm also in the fibromyalgia support group. I You can read my story then until I have time to write my bipolar story here. Please be patient with me. Right now it's late, and I need to go to bed.
