MY MOM
A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOST HER WAY
LOST HER MOTHER ON CHRISTMAS DAY
11 YEARS OLD, 5 SISTERS AND 1 BROTHER
A LIFE OF HELL WAS ABOUT TO UNFOLD WITH NO MOTHER
SHE WAS TAKEN OUT OF SCHOOL AND BECAME THE FAMILY COOK
THIS WAS THE PATH THAT HER LIFE TOOK
BEATEN, WHIPPED, AND TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL
SMILES, HUGS, FEELING LOVED WAS MINIMAL
THE STATE STEPPED IN AND TOOK ALL 7 KIDS AWAY
PLACING THEM WITH FAMILY MEMBERS WAS THERE NEW WAY
LIVING WITH 2 SPINSTER AUNTS AT THE AGE OF 17
THEY TOOK HER PAY, AND WAS VERY MEAN
SHE MET A MAN WHO CHANGED HER LIFE
THEY FELL IN LOVE AND SHE BECAME HIS WIFE
THEY HAD 2 CHILDREN, ONE WHICH WAS ADOPTED
RAISING THEIR FAMILY, AND LOVING THE LORD WAS THE LIFE THEY OPTED
THEY LOVED AS ONE FOR 62 YEARS
HANDLING AND DEALING WITH LIFES MANY FEARS
JANUARY 11, SHE BECAME SAD AGAIN
FOR THE MAN SHE LOVED, WENT TO HEAVEN
SHE HOLDS HIS MEMORY CLOSE TO HER HEART
TALKS TO HIS PICTURE, EACH DAY AT FIRST START
STILL TAKING CARE OF HERSELF AT THE AGE OF 92
JUST WANT TO SAY, MOM I'M SO PROUD OF YOU

That is such an amazing story and tribute to your mother, it is making me cry, it is so touching....
I am so glad your mom found happiness with her husband and had him with her for so long. You are truly blessed to have had them for parents. I got blessed with my mom, too and my dad, though, he was sick, was a good man. Your mom must have been a strong woman to be such a survivor of such a rough childhood.
