This morning I went for an ultrasound to see if I have gallstones. I've been having attacks since just before Thanksgiving that I suspected were due to gallstones, and yup! I've got them. It was kind of funny -- seeing my ultrasound images was a lot like when a proud parent-to-be shows me their ultrasound pics. I don't know what in the heck I'm looking at! You know, when the parent says something like, "that's the head..." and I'm thinking, "whatever you say, but I totally don't see anything!" The tech said, "there's your liver, your pancreas...," whatever. I still couldn't really see it. The only thing I could recognize was my heart. Even when she pointed out the stones, I couldn't tell how in the heck she knew.
So that's an unplanned surgical adventure! I have to speak with my GP, since she's the one who ordered the test. I went to see her about the painful attacks, and so she ordered the ultrasound to determine if I have stones. I can only presume that surgery will follow.

Finding out what is wrong and finding out it can be fixed! Yes!
Now the surgery. Yuck. But it will be a relief to have the pain stop, no? Good luck and good riddance to the stones.

Ack! So sorry you have the gall stones but it must be a relief to know what it is. My prayers are with you.
